Bigscreen Beyond 2: Holiday Update

Bigscreen Beyond 2: Holiday Update

As we start 2026, we're reflecting back on incredible accomplishments in the past year. Today, we recap highlights from 2025 and share our shipping progress with a new production update.

In March 2025, we announced the Bigscreen Beyond 2 and we were blown away with unanticipated demand that far exceeded our dreams. It launched to glowing reviews from LinusTechTips, Optimum, UploadVR, and more.

As we promised in recent production updates, we've successfully shipped more than 93% of all 2025 orders, with the last remaining orders (mostly from November/December) shipping out in the next couple of weeks. In fact, we've successfully shipped more units in the past month alone than we shipped in an entire year in 2023 or 2024!

Production Update: Latest estimated schedules

March-August orders: all orders have been shipped

September/October orders: 80-92% of orders have shipped, and the remainders will ship in the next couple of weeks. We're approximately 1 week behind schedule due to holiday-related component shipping delays, mostly affecting the VRChat Edition orders.

November/December orders: nearly ~70% of November orders and ~25% of December orders have already shipped within just a couple of weeks of placing an order. Early wait times for Bigscreen Beyond 2 preorders were multiple months; this is a good indicator that Beyond 2 wait times are rapidly reducing. We expect to finish most November & December orders by the end of January, with only a rare few slipping into February based on color/SKU/customizations in an order.

We've even shipped ~10% of January orders already. If you see someone purchasing a Bigscreen Beyond 2 and receiving it within 2-3 days, don't be surprised! This will become more common each week.

The last remaining units in our preorder are mostly November/December orders and VRChat Edition customers.

In-stock and shipping fast

We expect to have inventory on hand for all Beyond 2 colors and SKUs by February. Customized orders with prescription lens inserts may still take a couple of weeks, as it takes time to manufacture lenses to your prescription. We plan to maintain fast-shipping inventory for the coming years so you can place an order and receive it within a couple of days.

Producing SteamVR headsets for many years to come

The Bigscreen Beyond 2 production line has been continuously running since the summer of 2025, with no plans to stop for the years to come. This is also important for our enterprise customers (such as aerospace, healthcare, and humanoid robotics), as businesses are reliant on long-term production and availability of the Beyond 2.

We're now contractually locked in with customers and have secured our supply chain to ensure Beyond 2 headset production for the long run. This is important reassurance for the SteamVR ecosystem.

Growing usage of Bigscreen Beyond

Bigscreen Beyond has been climbing the Steam VR charts in popularity, with Beyond usage in December surpassing the HTC Vive Pro's, the Oculus Quest, and other popular headsets. We hope to surpass the Meta Quest Pro and perhaps even the Sony PSVR 2 this year!

Beyond 2e: Eyetracking with Dynamic Foveated Rendering

Recapping one of the biggest updates of 2025: we dropped Dynamic Foveated Rendering (DFR) support for Beyond 2e. This is a massive software update (available now in Early Access) that provides huge performance improvements in games like iRacing and DCS. Read more about Beyond 2e and DFR here. Our software development roadmap for 2026 is heavily focused on eyetracking as we continue to develop new features and improve latency, accuracy, and calibration (model training) process.

What's Next

If you haven't ordered a Beyond 2 or 2e yet, you can do so on our store. New orders are shipping within 2-5 weeks. The Audio Strap is currently out of stock, and we expect inventory in 1-2 weeks; Audio Strap shipments will resume by the end of January. The new Cyber Storage Can is in stock, and also ships within 1-2 days.

Stay tuned for more updates on eyetracking, accessories like the Halo Mount, new partnerships with VR game studios, in-person developer meetups, and more!
