Beyond 2 Tariff Update: No Price Increases

Beyond 2 Tariff Update: No Price Increases

The past few weeks have been unbelievable in several ways. Let’s recap!

Reviews of Bigscreen Beyond 2

First, we announced Bigscreen Beyond 2, our next-generation PC VR headset with incredible new optics and eyetracking. Sales of Beyond 2 skyrocketed, and within the first 10 days, we’ve sold more Beyond 2s than we sold in the first year of Beyond 1. We’re on track to grow by 7-10X this year, and we’re excited to become one of the leading VR manufacturers in the world.

Recently, reviews of Bigscreen Beyond 2 have also started to come out from leading reviewers like Optimum and Tested. We’re proud to see Optimum demonstrate that Bigscreen Beyond 2 beats the optics quality of Meta Quest 3. None of the videos are sponsored or paid, so check out these honest reviews videos below!

Tariffs: Bigscreen will absorb costs and not increase prices

In recent weeks, tariffs and trade wars have rocked the world, causing significant problems and uncertainty for consumers and businesses like Bigscreen. Our product is made with a global supply chain using components and assemblies from China, Japan, Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, and more. We also do significant final assembly and testing in our own factory in Los Angeles, California. Many of the most expensive components and assemblies are made outside the United States, and recent tariffs on our imports have dramatically increased our costs. We expected this may happen long before we announced Bigscreen Beyond 2.

We expect to absorb all costs of the tariffs, trade war, and supply chain disruptions. We will not be increasing prices in any form for the foreseeable future.

Bigscreen delivers products to customers worldwide with all costs included in the price at checkout. Customers will not pay any further shipping fees, tariffs, import duties, taxes, or VAT. The price you see at checkout is final – no hidden fees, no surprises.

A known issue in international trade, particularly with overseas exporters, is to avoid tariffs and fees by underreporting import values, or miscategorizing imports under tariff free loopholes. These are fraudulent tactics that can lead to fines, jail time, or getting banned from operating in a country. In fact, U.S. Customs offers reward bounties to those who report such fraudulent behavior. Bigscreen and our suppliers strictly adhere to regulations. We appropriately pay the necessary tariffs, import duties, taxes, and VAT to government authorities on behalf of our customers.

Preparing for production

For Beyond 2, we’ve invested heavily in quality control with machine automation, computer vision, and human processes. We’ve nearly doubled the size of our customer support team in the past week in order to ensure customers have a fantastic experience with Beyond 2. While customer support response times today for a new ticket are greater than 1 week due to unanticipated demand, we aim to get to 1-2 day response times as soon as possible.

The April and May delivery batches sold out within a couple hours on our first day of sales. The majority of Beyond 2 preorders are scheduled for a June delivery, and we’re on track for that. New orders placed today are scheduled for a July delivery, which also remains on track. In the next update, we’ll share our regular monthly update on the production and delivery schedules for Beyond 2!
