We're thrilled by the overwhelming response to our first-ever Black Friday sale for the Bigscreen Beyond. The enthusiasm from the VR community has far exceeded even our hopeful expectations for growth, and we want to share an important update about order fulfillment and shipping timelines.
For the past 3 months, we’ve been shipping Bigscreen Beyond within 1-2 weeks to customers around the world. Due to the unprecedented volume of orders during our Black Friday-Cyber Monday event, we're sad to say that we need to adjust our shipping estimates for orders placed during this period.
- Orders placed before Black Friday (November 29th) will ship before Christmas
- Orders placed on November 29th may ship before the holidays, but we cannot guarantee it. Our Los Angeles factory team is working hard to achieve this goal.
- Orders placed after Black Friday (November 29th) will ship approximately 6-10 weeks from now (by the first week of February 2025)
As we continue to ship headsets, Bigscreen Beyond continues to climb the ranks of most popular VR headsets on Steam. We started at 0% just a year ago, and with 0.50% market share, we've quickly topped Pimax, Varjo Aero, and other great headsets. With our growth, we expect to crack 1% market share and surpass headsets such as HTC Vive Pro, Oculus Quest, and Meta Quest Pro in a few months.
Behind the Scenes
As many of you know, each Bigscreen Beyond is custom-manufactured to fit your unique facial structure based on a face scan made after you place your order. Our Los Angeles factory has been consistently delivering on our promise of quick turnaround times, often shipping headsets within days of order placement.
There are exceptions: prescription lens inserts are custom-made for each customer which typically takes 4+ weeks to manufacture, test, and ship. We subject these and other custom-made components of Bigscreen Beyond to automated and human quality control in Los Angeles to ensure excellent product quality.
However, the surge in Black Friday orders has temporarily exceeded our production capacity. Unlike traditional manufacturing where products are made in advance, each Beyond requires individual customization. While this approach ensures an unparalleled fit and comfort, it also means we can't simply pull products from a warehouse shelf. Every headset needs to go through our precise manufacturing process, including careful quality control checks.
